Requirements for Promotions

Note: A White Belt has a 10 Gup Level ranking, which means a beginner, but the new student works at learning their basics and other requirements to test for Yellow / Orange Belt as shown below. Also, there are two options for training and testing in this system. Option 1. is for Streetwise Self-Defense protection for you and your loved ones, not all requirements listed below are for option 1. (dojang/dojo training). Option 2, is

everything listed below in the requirements. Check with the Instructor for these options for your requirements.

The Color Belts under Black Belt Forms (Hyungs), are the Bokido Kai Iron Fist Fighting Forms, which are preset for dojang/dojo but can be customized for wilderness practice.  These Forms are set by the guidelines of the Association.

The Black Belt Forms (Hyungs), are the Tang Soo Do Iron Fist Fighting Forms, which are for dojang / wilderness practice. It is up to the mine’s creativity of each Black Belt, to create the full potential for these, Historic Old Style Forms, which GM Boivin learned from his first starting Tang Soo Do classes in College at the beginning of the 70s. These Forms are set by the guidelines of the Association.

When I am talking about Hyungs, Katas, or Forms they are patterns, that may have 20 or more basic action moves in them to simulate fighting a group of people instead of one or two people, which would be a short Jujitsu One Step, just like the Karate One Step for most martial arts systems.

Also note: When I teach classes, it is always done traditionally. When I teach techniques, it is always a slower pace and somewhat mechanical at first, so the students can understand, where it starts, where it goes, and where it ends... Then it starts to flow into a street version, this is reality and this is the general way I teach.

NOTE: In this system, you can fully test in part (1) Shin Gan Ninjuka Tang Soo Do Martial Arts and part (2) Wilderness Warriors Outdoorsman Self-Defense, Brushcraft, and Survival... Some of the requirements are different for each.

NOTE: Weapon Forms, follow the same guidelines as the Empty Hand Forms, noted above... Also, note that there are other Weapons we learn that are not in Hyung Form.
